Our house sale is complete and the move is all over. Now the fun part begins! I need a rock bar (I discovered that I have 3 of them during the move) did I put them in the storage trailer, or are they in the tool trailer, or did I put them under the piled up bench in the garage? I will probably soon have 4 rock bars. The astounding thing about moving from a home you have lived in for 15 years is that you discover things that you moved 15 years ago and haven't seen since. The amazing thing is, you move them again! We have been driving around the district quite a bit and looking at the flood damages. It's great to see how quickly folks are dealing with the messes. This flood was unprecedented in some areas by how quickly the water rose and how deep it was. When you get 10 inches of rain on soil that's already saturated, it's all run-off. This morning it is 64 degrees and the river is covered with fog. August? Are you kidding me?
School has started so be extra cautious driving in town. If you are retired and want something to do, ask your local grade school if you can volunteer to help in some way. It's also great fun to go have lunch with the little ones!
Food For Thought... If a seven year old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher is "cute", but a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable...you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.
